race in Čunovo

I have been waiting the whole year for this while and finally I finished 1st in Cunovo. The competition was really rough - Youth Danubia Cup :) Probably I was the oldest around except for judges! It was really fun. 6 runs in one day - 3 races, 35 athletes together in all categories (average age 15), 22 degrees, sun... In the evening we went to the concert in Bratislava - Polemic, SkaPraSupina! Ska rulez! Afterwards we moved to the wedding of Eva Hochschornerova, it was very nice party, on a big riverboat with all friends... sweet!

Boli sme v ZOO... chudáka maca som ľutovala v tejto horúčave s jeho kožuchom!

Okrem toho v podstate nič nové. Každý deň jazdíme na kanáli, ktorý verejne vyhlasujem za najlepší "playground" spomedzi umelých slalomových kanálov! Bohužial už o par dní letím dom - neviem sa dočkať... (zima, záplavy v Čunove, škola, povinnosti)

Minulý týždeň sme trénovali so Scottom Shipleym, prišiel sem na týždeň kvôli natáčaniu reportáži o tejto stavbe (on je ten, čo to má na svedomí) a trénoval pár ľudí, čo mali záujem. Už nejazdí závodne, ale stále mu to ide výborne na vode. Pre mladšie ročníky osvieženie pamäti - 3x bol 2. na MS, 4x vyhral SP a veľakrakrát sa umiestnil do 3.m. v K1M.

Na tejto stránke sú inak úplne všetky výsledky slalomárov, čo kedy jazdili slalom na OH, MS, ME, MSJ, MEJ, SP, ME U23... Našla som tam dokonca aj moju mamu pod rodným menom "Kubovčáková"!!! http://slalom.flechtner.de/int/index.html

Mt. Pishag

Asheville je znamy tym, ze polovicu mesta tvoria cyklisti a druhu polku hippisaci, vyhulenci a nezavislaci, ktory postavaju na uliciach, kam len pozries. V sobotu sme sa skupina 5 nadsencov (Scott, Austin, DJ, Kristen, ja) vidali zdolat Mt. Pisgah (5500 feet, prepocet si urobte sami:) Zacinalo to 50 min krutym stupanim v serpentynach, nasledovali 3 tunely a vyborne kopce, zjazdy, vyhlad (tentoraz sme videli aj tu skalu, na ktorej sa vo filme "Posledny Mohykan "odohrala zaverecna scena). Dokopy nam to trvalo okolo 3 hod, luxus!!!

US National Whitewater Center

Charlotte-Ocoee

The Charlotte whitewater center is pretty nice. It is non-stop whitewater from top to bottom with 1 big drop. The rest is fast water with a lot of waves and stoppers the entire way down the river. I am surfing and playing all the time now. The weather is quite hot so it’s hard to train for a long time during day (100 F) except for early in the morning.
The conveyor is maybe the only one thing that isn’t that good because the end is too steep with iron rollers! And sure, there are lots of rafters. Overall, the course is sweet!!

We spent this weekend in Asheville (Do you remember the mountains from the movie “The Last of the Mohicans”?) Cool biking! On Sunday we went to OCOEE for paddling! It is not a really hard course, but a technical natural river with lots of stoppers and waves. It was very nice for paddling and surfing and playing.
